He did not use that soldering iron inappropriately..  I'm disappointed.
I also just realized I've spelled soldering wrong my entire life.

I always thought sampling rate was related to running through the grocery store collecting free samples.

You clearly didn't watch the video.
Sampling rate is related to how often people steal other peoples shit and use it in their own tracks.

Unfortunately for those of you still clasping on to the failure that is Windows for audio production, the second link will be of no help to you.   😉

Fuckin Phil.  NOBODY CARES PHIL!!!!  Go back to your fruity loops and continue wondering why, after all these years, do people still consider it a toy.  😛

yeah I'm really liking the morphox.  A lot.  also, this is a good blog to read if you don't know of it.  http://www.wiretotheear.com/2008/01/25/keep-your-channel-faders-low-and-the-master-at-0db/

Some fun sounding synths.  They say they are for dubstep, but I'm sure they can be used for other things.  There is a Virus soundbank on this page as well.

Anyone using Reaktor? I just got 5.5, starting to play with it. LazerBass is pretty neat 🙂

yeah… pretty much ever ensemble takes too much time for me to “learn” right now… I never get along with presets or anything so I pretty much have to learn a synth to actually use it. of course if I were smart and had just recorded all my noodlings with reaktor ensembles I'd have one hell of a library to sample! I want to actually build something in it, I think I need better instruction than the manual that comes with it.

If anyone has one I'd like to play around sometime; maybe if I make it up north for a festival?

I have a maschine and a small eurorack to put in the mix .

Not sure if this has been posted already but here is a very good free limiter for mac/pc (AU/VST)

    http://yohng.com/w1limit.html

Waves L1 clone. Very light-weight, can barely notice it on my G4. Sounds pretty darn good, might be the best 'free' limiter out there for mac (definitley the best one I've used so far).

Okay here's another fun thing, it's called KickMaker (also free and mac/pc).

Has some good presets to start modeling from, very warm full sound (also great for psy) however using it as a instrument I've found is not practical. Record the audio output instead and sequence that, otherwise it's too variant. If you bounce one of the kicks as audio and sequence that it'll sound great.
